The history of chocolate...

The history of chocolate begins with the ancient Mesoamerican civilizations, where the Maya and Aztecs cultivated and used cacao beans.

These precious beans were roasted, ground, and mixed with water to create a bitter beverage called "xocoatl," often flavored with spices such as vanilla and chili pepper. For these cultures, cacao was so important that it was used as currency and offered to the gods in sacred rituals.

Chocolate arrived in Europe in the 16th century thanks to Spanish explorers who brought cacao beans with them. Initially, the cacao beverage became popular at the Spanish court and quickly spread among European aristocracies, where it was sweetened with sugar and flavored with vanilla, becoming a symbol of luxury and refinement.

The Industrial Revolution in the 18th century marked a turning point in the history of chocolate. Technological innovations allowed cacao to be transformed into various solid products, such as chocolate bars and pralines. In 1828, the Dutchman Coenraad Van Houten invented a process to extract cocoa butter, making it possible to produce solid chocolate as we know it today.

During the 19th and 20th centuries, chocolate became accessible to a wider audience thanks to mass production. Iconic brands helped spread the consumption of chocolate worldwide, constantly innovating with new products and flavors.

Today, chocolate is a global delight, with an infinite variety of tastes and forms, from artisanal chocolate bars to gourmet pralines. Chocolate manufacturers, like our company, continue to value the historical and cultural heritage of chocolate, combining tradition and innovation to offer unique experiences to customers.

Forma Trading offers a product that perfectly combines these two aspects thanks to the LiCap technology for micronizing chocolate. This process allows us to obtain extremely fine and soluble powdered chocolate, preserving the flavor and organoleptic properties of the product, making it ideal for a wide range of applications, such as beverages, ice cream, and baked goods.

In addition to our micronized products, thanks to collaboration with our partners, we offer:
